Bike USA is July 2009!!!!!...I am biked down the coast of California with Allison Halter, Devan Hemmings and Ann Chen(one at a time)!! The voyage was broadcast via twitter/blog. It was meant as a personal journey as well as a means to gather data for a new body of artwork. My inspiration for the piece lies in the idea of self sustainability, the current state of the economy, the beauty I have found in nature, the joy I have found in bicycling, my own aging process and the aging of our planet. Additional inspirations from explorer Erling Kagge and Daniel Lionberg who is the fastest person I know.

All able bodied people... consider trading cars for bicycles... In most metropolitan cities, bikes are faster than cars and public transportation. When I bike instead of using the subway its usually takes 1/2 the time and is WAY more pleasant. Think about it, getting exercise, saving time and there is no cost, ..plus your carbon footprint is smaller. Don't forget to wear your helmet!! Bike lights too!
